Annual Returns

If your charity last did an annual return before 12 November 2018, the system has changed and you will need to ensure that your charity’s information is up to date, and all relevant details are in place on the Charity Commission website.

What does your charity need to do?

  • Check that you can log into your charity’s account
  • Confirm your charity’s details are up to date including all trustees’ contact details
  • Start your annual return

If your charity has an income over £10,000, or it is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) you will need to also check if any of the new questions on the annual return apply to your charity.

Small UK charities providing help overseas to receive UK aid boost

The Department for International Development (DFID) announced last month that the Small Charities Challenge Fund is open to organisations that have an income of less than £250,000 and provide life-changing support to those in need across the world.

Charities working globally in areas such as girl’s education, climate change, and healthcare, amongst others, will now be able to access grants of up to £50,000.

The first review date for applications is 28 November 2019.
